PROSPECT — A vandal smashed out the front door of a Prospect gas station earlier this week.

According to a police report issued by Troop I in Bethany, a state trooper responded to an alarm at the Sunoco Gas Station at 68 Waterbury Road shortly before 3:30 a.m. Oct. 15. When the trooper arrived the gas station’s front door was shattered and a search of area found no suspects or any other damage.

Police reported surveillance footage showed a lone suspect threw rocks at the door and then fled the scene on a bicycle.  The suspect was described as a white male, with a slim build, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark shows.

Anyone who was in the area between 3:10 and 3:30 a.m. Oct. 15 and may have seen the suspect is asked to call Trooper Donis at Troop I in Bethany, (203) 393-4200.
