BRIDGEPORT — A Seymour man who lived in Naugatuck when he was caught with sexually explicit images and videos of children pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to possession of child pornography.

Joseph Calvin Laughner, 44, had more than 300 images and 22 videos of children engaged in sexual acts, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Investigators discovered the files stored on three computers and other items seized in December 2009, when the Connecticut Computer Crimes Task Force and the Naugatuck Police Department searched Laughner’s home, according to the release.

Laughner used a peer-to-peer file sharing program to download the files, according to court records.

Laughner was freed on a $100,000 bond after his December 2010 arrest.
