NAUGATUCK — Rubber Avenue between Meadow Street and Arch Street has reopened.
That section of the road was closed at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after a construction crew working in front of Friendly’s struck a gas line causing a leak. Utility crews were called in to repair the leak.
This section of the road will be closed, except for traffic going into the Farmers Market Plaza and Friendly’s, Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. as work is done to replace a water main. Detours will be set up. Police are encouraging drivers to use an alternate route to avoid delays.
