NAUGATUCK — Police have confirmed a family of four is safe after the family was reported missing following a series of circumstances that appeared unusual.
Police located Andres Bravo, 43, Jennifer Cubillos, 33, and two children, 11-year-old Samantha Bravo and 14-year-old Christopher Bravo over the weekend, police said. Police said the family is safe and unharmed.
Police started an investigation in the family’s whereabouts last Wednesday after school administrators reported they couldn’t locate the children, who were enrolled in Naugatuck schools last school year.
A house listed as the family’s home was sold in late June or early July, and Bravo and Cubillos told family members they were planning to move to Florida, police said. Before this past weekend, family members told police they received text messages from Bravo and Cubillos until about Aug. 11, and the last messages they received indicated that they needed money for car insurance and were planning to return to Connecticut.
Police said a chain of circumstances that appeared to be unusual to family members and investigators led to the family being reported missing. Police didn’t provide any additional details, stating there was no criminal aspect to the incident.
