NAUGATUCK — Firefighters quickly doused a truck fire Sept. 7 on the Prospect Street bridge.
Firefighters responded to the fire at about 8:45 p.m. and put out the blaze in less than 5 minutes, Fire Chief Paul Russell said.
Russell said the fire started in the engine of a work truck, which is owned by Danny’s Junk Removal. He said the cause of the fire is believed to be mechanical issues.
Two men were in the truck at the time, Russell said. There were no reported injuries, he said.
Officials from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded, as well, due to a very small amount fluid that went into a nearby storm drain, Russell said.
