NaugyTownHall2NAUGATUCK — The results of a strategic plan for the borough will be presented to officials Monday night.

The Tri-Board of the Board of Mayor and Burgesses, Board of Finance and Board of Education will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at City Hill Middle School, 441 City Hill St., to review the plan.

Blum, Shapiro & Co., a consulting firm, was hired last November for $62,000 to develop a long-term strategic plan on the operations of borough government. The company began its work in January. Since then, company representatives have analyzed the borough’s government in order make recommendations for ways the borough can improve itself and streamline its government processes.

The company will present its report to the tri-board followed by a question and answer session between company representatives and board members, Mayor Robert Mezzo said on his blog. The meeting is open to the public.

The agenda for Monday’s meeting includes discussion and possible action on the plan. The plan has drawn concerns over recent months from those in the community with ties to social service programs in Naugatuck. One of the areas the study looked into is the social services Naugatuck provides and the level to which the borough should fund them.

Mezzo has repeatedly said the final decision on potential changes to how government operates will be made by the Board of Mayor and Burgesses.
