BEACON FALLS — The assessor’s office will accept applications for the elderly homeowners/disabled tax relief program until May 15.
Applicants must be 65 years old by Dec. 31, 2016, have owned their primary residence for at least one year, and reside at the residence. Permanently and totally disabled individuals, as defined by Social Security, are eligible to receive benefits under this program regardless of age, provided all other criteria are met.
Income limits for the program are $35,200 for a single person and $42,900 for a married couple. Proof of all income for 2016 must be provided at the time of application.
