NAUGATUCK — Police are investigating complaints of items stolen from unlocked cars in the area of Debbie Lane, including one incident that was caught on video surveillance.

The incidents happened during the early morning hours on Friday. Police said at least four unknown individuals entered and took items from multiple vehicles at about 4:44 a.m. Video surveillance from a home on Debbie Lane shows two of the suspects, who were in a newer-style, dark-blue, four-door sedan, going through a car in the home’s driveway.

The operator of the sedan appeared to be a Black or Hispanic man with a chin-strap style beard, police said. Another suspect appeared to be a shorter white female, police said.

All of the incidents involved items stolen from cars that were left unlocked. Police believe the incidents are related and reminded residents to lock their cars and remove all valuables to prevent becoming a victim.

These incidents remain under investigation. Police asked anyone with information on the incidents to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221 or the department’s confidential tip line at 203-720-1010.
