WRHSREGION 16 — Region 16 school officials are seeking input on what skills the public feels are the most important for the new principal of Woodland Regional High School to possess.

A survey, available through a link on the region’s website, asks takers to identity the eight skills they believe are the most vital for the new principal to have out of 23 choices.

A composite of the feedback will be used by the selection team and Board of Education  to better focus their screening procedure and formulate interview questions, the survey states. The survey will be open until 12 p.m. on July 22.

Former Woodland Principal Arnold Frank retired at the end of the school year. He was subsequently named interim principal until his successor is in place. Frank has been principal of the school for the past 13 years or the entire school’s history.

Region 16 oversees schools in Beacon Falls and Prospect.

According to a projected timeline for the principal search, the new principal is anticipated to be appointed on Aug. 14 with the successful candidate slated to begin by Oct. 1.
