REGION 16 — The Region 16 school district is seeking the public’s input on naming the new elementary school that will be built in Prospect.

The school, which is part of a three-part school building project, will be built at 75 New Haven Road and replace Algonquin and Community schools in Prospect. Construction is slated to begin in April or May.

A naming committee was recently established to name the school. The committee will present three recommendations for names for the new school to the superintendent early this year. The Board of Education will have the final say on the school’s name.

The public can provide their input online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/6XR559G through Feb. 8. Anyone without computer access can mail suggestions with a rationale can also be mailed to Regional School District #16, c/o Mr. Tim James, Superintendent, 207 New Haven Road, Prospect, CT 06712.
