NAUGATUCK — Three Naugatuck High School students are working to show there’s a reason to be freezing.

NHS DECA students Heyi Cheng, Michael Huzior and Kevin Okifo are working on a creative marketing project to present at the state Career Development Conference in February. The students are tasked with working with a local business or organization to create an innovative marketing plan.

The students are working with Tequila Grill to present “Freezin for a Reason” Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the restaurant, 9 Church St. The event, which will feature one-day specials for those who present a flyer for the event, will benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Members of the NHS Pan Mass Challenge bike team will be riding on training bicycles in front of the restaurant and collecting donations.

The event has been promoted in the school and through social media outlets. The students are working to show the benefit of social media in promoting events, among other advertising methods.
