Chariots of Hope and Connecticut State Police are teaming up to collect wheelchairs.

Chariots of Hope is a non-profit organization that collects used wheelchairs, refurbishes them, then distributes them to people around the world who need them.

The organization is hosting a collection effort on Saturday, with a goal of collecting 500 wheelchairs. Donations of wheelchairs will be collected at any Connecticut State Police barracks between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Representatives from Chariots of Hope will be on hand to collect wheelchairs. The closest barrack is Troop I, 631 Amity Road in Bethany.
