NAUGATUCK — Beginning this weekend, the Phoenix Stage Company will present “The Adventures of Peter Cottontail,” based on the book by Thornton W. Burgess.
The production for children centers on Peter Rabbit who lives happily in the Green Meadow, eating from Farmer Brown’s carrot and cabbage crops. His sole concern is his name, Peter Rabbit. He doesn’t like it. Along with his friends — Jimmy Skunk, Sammy Jay, Old Mr. Toad, Johnny Chuck, and others, he sets out to discover a new and more appealing name. Meanwhile, Granny Fox is so hungry for barbecued rabbit, she sends Reddy Fox to capture Peter.
Show times for “The Adventures of Peter Cottontail” are April 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Phoenix Stage Company is located at 686 Rubber Ave. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased by calling the box office at (203) 632-8546 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
