Society sponsoring historic home tour

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Historical Society is sponsoring a historic home tour on Aug. 5.

Participants can tour and learn the history of a number of homes on Terrace, Hillside, Millville and Rockwell avenues. The tour will end with a sneak peek of the Tuttle house, which is being renovated to be the future home of the historical society.

The self-guided tour runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The private homes will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Tuttle house will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. The rain date for the tour is Aug. 6.

Advanced tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Tickets purchased on the day of the tour are $30. The tour is recommended for people 14 years old and older. Tickets are available at the historical society museum, 171 Church St., and will be available at the Tuttle house, 318 Church St., the day of the tour starting at 9:30 a.m. The tickets will have a list of the private homes on the tour. Participants will receive a program and a map of the private homes at the first home they visit. For more information, email naugatuckhistory@att.net.
