NAUGATUCK — The borough will be doing extensive snow removal Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in the downtown and Union City areas.

Mayor Robert Mezzo said the Whittemore Bridge over Maple Street will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 3 a.m. Wednesday to remove snow.

Most of the removal efforts during this time will take place on Maple Street and Church Street in downtown and on North Main Street in Union City, Mezzo said. The borough is asking all vehicles parked on and around those streets be removed no later than 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Travel will be limited in downtown Naugatuck and Union City during these times.
