BEACON FALLS — The Board of Selectmen last week awarded bids to repair drainage and pavement on Pent Road near the Beacon Falls Recreation Complex.
First Selectman Christopher Bielik said the damage occurred in March when part of the road washed out during a heavy rain storm.
The town received three bids for the drainage repair and awarded the contract to the Beacon Falls-based Swan Excavating Company, LLC, which submitted the low bid of $5,200. The highest bid was $8,850.
The town also received three bids to repair the pavement and awarded the contract to the Beacon Falls-based Forest Construction Company, LLC, which submitted the low bid of $45,100. The highest bid was $68,530.
The money for the work will come out of the 2018-19 budget and funds leftover from money allocated for road repairs in 2016, Bielik said.
