PROSPECT — The Region 16 Board of Education last week appointed Brian Fell as Woodland Regional High School’s athletic director/dean of discipline.

Fell, who is an assistant principal and the athletic director at Woodland, will take on his new role in the 2018-19 school year.

School officials created the athletic director/dean of discipline position as part of a restructuring of the administrative positions at Woodland. Woodland has a principal, assistant principal, a combined assistant principal and athletic director, and a part-time dean of students. The restructuring made the assistant principal and athletic director position strictly an assistant principal. Under the restructuring, the dean of students and athletic director positions were combined into a new position that will handle disciplinary issues and oversee athletics.

Superintendent of Schools Michael Yamin said Fell’s salary will be about $130,000 in the new position in 2018-19, which is slightly less than his current salary and includes a prorated portion for a couple more months as an assistant principal. The district will post the assistant principal job to find candidates for the position, he said.
