Rotary collection on display

NAUGATUCK — The Rotary Book Collection will be on display at the Whittemore Library through January.

The display, on the Whittemore Gallery Wall, features a collection of fiction and non-fiction books funded by the Naugatuck Rotary Club during 2014.

Each year since 1955, the library has received an annual stipend from the club with which to purchase books on a variety of subjects. Each book entered into the library’s collection is labeled with a special bookplate featuring the Rotary seal and a Rotarian’s name. Books are purchased based on the special interests of each Rotarian on the occasion of his or her birthday. To date, 3,854 books have been added to the library’s permanent collection.
