NAUGATUCK — A collection of books funded by the Naugatuck Rotary Club in 2013 will be on display this month at the Whittemore Library.

Each year since 1955, the library has received an annual stipend from the club to purchase books. Each book entered is labeled with a special bookplate featuring the Rotary seal and a Rotarian’s name. Books are purchased based on the special interests of each Rotarian on the occasion of his or her birthday. To date, 3,815 books have been added to the library’s permanent collection.

The Whittemore Library staff gratefully acknowledges the auspices of the Rotary Club of Naugatuck and encourages patrons to check out books from this fascinating collection which are sure to please even the most discerning reader, a release from the library stated.

The books are displayed by the Whittemore Gallery Wall located on the main floor in the Adult Department. The display can be viewed during the library’s normal hours. The library is located at 243 Church St. For more information, call (203) 729-4591.
