NAUGATUCK — Deputy Mayor Tamath Rossi is running the New York Marathon on Nov. 2 to raise money for the Naugatuck Education Foundation, which gives grants to public school educators to pay for programs not funded in the school budget.
Rossi, who has run to help the Howard Whittemore Memorial Library, the Naugatuck Ecumenical Food Bank and other nonprofit organizations in the community, said she chose NEF this time because “it has been doing great things for our educators and students.”
She is seeking donations and sponsors. Donations may be sent directly to the NEF care of Mike Murphy, NEF P.O. Box 1717 Naugatuck, CT 06770. They may also be dropped off in the Naugatuck Mayor’s Office at Town Hall or emailed to Rossi at tamathkrossi@gmail.com. She will also pick up donations. Checks can be made payable to NEF (write “Rossi NYC Marathon” on memo line).
Donations are being accepted until Oct. 31. Gold sponsor and platinum sponsor donations are due by Oct. 17. For more information, email Rossi at tamathkrossi@gmail.com.
