NAUGATUCK — A robbery suspect is on the lam after eluding police on Friday.

Police tried to arrest 31-year-old Michael Korzen on a warrant in the area of South Main Street and High Street on Friday. Police said Korzen evaded officers’ attempt to arrest him, including the deployment of a Taser gun. Police said Korzen may have suffered an ankle injury as he fled from police.

The warrant stems from an earlier domestic incident in which, according to police, Korzen forcefully stole a purse containing cash from the victim. Police said Korzen also took the victim’s car, which was later returned.

Korzen left the scene by the time officers arrived to investigate the domestic incident. Korzen later returned, police said, and officers were called but unable to take him into custody.

Police dogs were brought in to try and track Korzen but were unsuccessful, police said.

Police said Korzen is believed to be on foot. Korzen is white, about 6 feet tall and weighs about 155 pounds, according to police. Police urged residents to call police if they spot Korzen and not to approach him.
