NAUGATUCK — A Waterbury man was arrested Wednesday night after chasing a car on his motorcycle into a lot behind the Naugatuck Police Department.
Police charged Vincent Porzio, 47, of 1575 Thomaston Ave., Waterbury, with driving under the influence and following with intent to harass in connection with a road rage incident that began in Waterbury.
According to a press release issued by Officer Michael Favale, a man called the police department at about 10 p.m. last night and reported he was being chased by a motorcyclist, later identified as Porzio, who was driving erratically. He told police he was fearful of Porzio.
The man, who was driving south on Spring Street, eventually pulled in the police department parking lot followed by Porzio, the release said. Both men then drove up the rear access road leading to the public works lot behind the department, where officers stopped Porzio.
Porzio told police the man in the car “cut him off” on Highland Avenue in Waterbury and at that time he began to chase him. Police reported Porzio was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Porzio was given a court date of Sept. 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.
