Whittemore Library is showcasing the art of former Library Assistant and Technical Services Librarian Eleanor Peterson through the month.

NAUGATUCK — During the month of October, the Whittemore Library will be featuring a representative selection of works by former Library Assistant and Technical Services Librarian Eleanor Peterson.

This retrospective collection, on loan to the library from Peterson’s family, will be on display on the Whittemore Gallery Wall on the library’s main floor.

Peterson was born and raised in Naugatuck and attended local schools before she joined the library staff upon graduation from Naugatuck High School.

In addition to her technical skills at the library, Peterson was a self-taught artist who relied on the library’s collection of art books to further her education and refine her skills as an artist.

Peterson’s artwork can be viewed during regular library hours. For more information, call (203) 729-4591.
