Registration open for adult education classes

Reg16REGION 16 — Region 16’s adult education program is now accepting registrations for fall classes.

Classes are open to anyone 16 years old or older who reside in one of the region’s towns, Beacon Falls and Prospect, or any surrounding community and are not currently enrolled in a high school program.

A variety of adult education classes are being offered, such as international cooking, beginning tap dancing, conversational Spanish and self defense courses. Adults interested in taking high school equivalency courses or basic education courses can do so through Waterbury Adult Education.

Classes begin the week of Sept. 30. All courses are $38 with a $4 registration fee for a total of $42 except as noted in course descriptions. All courses consist of 10 classes except as noted in course description. Courses for seniors, 55 years old and older, are $20 with a $4 registration fee for a total of $24.

The deadline to register and pay for courses is Sept. 24. If a person is unable to attend classes after registering for a course, only the tuition will be refunded until after the first class. After the first class there will be no refunds. There is a $25 fee for any returned checks.

Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. People will be notified if a class is cancelled.
