State Senate candidate John “Corky” Mazurek was recently endorsed by the Connecticut Association of Realtors Political Action Committee.
“We are pleased to inform you that the trustees of the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) have selected you for endorsement in your campaign for election to the Connecticut General Assembly. You are a staunch ally in our efforts to promote and protect the American Dream. You possess those attributes favorable to free enterprise, private property rights, and housing opportunity and choice,” stated the committee in a letter to Mazurek.
The Connecticut Association of Realtors is a professional trade association, representing over 14,000 real estate professionals engaged in all aspects of the real estate business.
Mazurek, a Democrat, is vying for the seat in the 16th Senatorial District. The district includes Southington, Wolcott, portions of Cheshire and Waterbury and Prospect, which was shifted into the district after the 2010 census data was released last year.
Mazurek, 59 of Wolcott, is challenging Republican incumbent Joe Markley, a 55-year-old resident of the Plantsville section of Southington.
Mazurek responded to the endorsement in a prepared statement. “I am proud to stand with the Connecticut Realtors. They believe in and promote the American dream of home ownership. Home sales will play a vital role in the recovery of Connecticut’s economy and it is essential that legislation favor a robust real estate market. I thank RPAC for the confidence they have shown in my candidacy,” he said.
