PROSPECT — Officials are issuing another request for proposals for a company to assess the town’s information technology needs after an initial bid process yielded one response.

The town is seeking a company to evaluate its IT infrastructure, including hardware, software and security, and propose a strategic technology plan. Officials plan to use the assessment to then find a company to oversee IT for the town.

Twin Lakes Consulting LLC provided the only bid in response to an RFP the town issued earlier this fall. The Salisbury-based firm stated in its bid it would develop and implement a five-year technology plan for the town for a fee of $125 hour, up to $26,450.

Mayor Robert Chatfield said there was a minor issue with the insurance certification the firm submitted with its bid, and the town had to issue another RFP. He said the firm can submit another bid.

Chatfield said he expected to issue the second RFP by the end of last week.

Town Council Chairman Jeffrey Slapikas said responses are expected within a month after the RFP goes out.

An IT evaluation was one of several recommendations that came from an independent risk assessment of the town’s financial controls and practices conducted by The Bonadio Group, a New York-based firm.
