PROSPECT — Police have their eye out for suspects in two separate thefts, which occurred in town last week.
A lone suspect made off with a wedding ring from Prospect Jewelers after posing as a customer.
According to a Troop I police report, on March 23 a white male was in the store on Waterbury Road and asked to see a 14-karat gold wedding band from a display case.
When the clerk gave the man the ring, the report stated, the man casually walked to the front door then fled the store.
The ring is valued at $695, the report stated.
Sometime overnight between March 23 and March 24, according to a police report, someone stole a radio, CDs and identification cards from an unlocked, parked car on Colonial Drive.
As of press time, both cases remained under investigation.
