Prospect police investigating car theft

PROSPECT — A thieve or thieves stole a 2007 Mercedes Benz S50 Friday afternoon from a parking lot on Union City Road.

Police reported the car was stolen from the parking lot of 33 Union City Road at about 4:45 p.m. The car was unlocked with the keys on the center console, police said.

The victim’s wallet, iPhone 7 Plus, a set of golf clubs and a pair of golf shoes were in the car at the time, police said. The total estimated value of the items stolen, including the car, is $42,510, according to police.

No further information was released. Police asked anyone with information to call the Prospect Police Department at 203-758-6150.

The theft was reported about 20 minutes after police received reports about suspects, described as Hispanic males, stealing items from a car parked on Waterbury Road and going through another car parked in a garage on Trotters Way.
