Prospect police find bullet casings after possible road rage incident

PROSPECT — Police say officers found seven bullet shell casings in the area of Waterbury and Scott roads last week as they investigated a possible road-rage incident.

Police said officers responded to Waterbury Road near Webster Bank at about 12:30 a.m. June 24 for a report of a possible road-rage incident involving shots fired. When officers arrived, police said, they spoke to a witness, but the cars involved had driven away.

Police closed Waterbury Road, also known as Route 69, from Summit Road to Scott Road while officers investigated. Police said officers found six bullet casings on Waterbury Road and one on Scott Road.

No further information was released. The incident is under investigation.
