PROSPECT — The Prospect Resident Trooper’s Office announced that it has joined the 2011 Click It or Tick It campaign, a national effort to enforce the use of seat belts while driving.

Beginning May 23 through June 5 motorists driving through Prospect can expect to get a ticket, not a warning, if they aren’t wearing their seat belts.

Nighttime enforcement of seat belt use will be a priority during the campaign. Of those who died in nighttime crashes in 2009, according to the trooper’s office, 62 percent were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
