Prospect man killed in Route 8 accident


WATERBURY — A 27-year-old Prospect man died Wednesday night after he was thrown from his motorcycle on Route 8 South in Waterbury, police said.

Christopher Jeannin, of 120 Matthew St., Prospect, was riding his 2008 Yamaha R6 at about 11:30 p.m. in the area of Exit 34 when he hit a 2010 Honda Civic from behind, police said. Both vehicles were in the center lane of the highway at the time, according to police.

Jeannin was thrown from the motorcycle into the left lane of the highway, police said. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Honda, 23-year-old Moya A. O’Leary, of New Jersey, was taken to Waterbury Hospital for a medical evaluation, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
