BRISTOL — A 50-year-old Prospect man suffered fatal injuries from a motorcycle accident in Bristol Wednesday night.

According to the Bristol Police Department, Jeffrey Emmons of Prospect died after he was thrown from his motorcycle.

Police said the accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. last night at the intersection of King and Woodland streets in Bristol. Police said Emmons was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with 2005 Toyota Celica that was turning onto a street in front of him.

Emmons was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries, police said. Due to the bad weather at the time, a Life Star helicopter was unable to respond to the scene, police said. Emmons was transported by ambulance St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, where he died during surgery, according to police.

The driver of the Celica, 25-year-old Matthew Fazzio of Bristol, wasn’t injured in the accident, police said.

As of this post no charges had been filed in connection with the accident, and the incident remained under investigation.
