PROSPECT — The town is taking applications for its fuel assistance program.

The program is designed to help residents who are unable to purchase fuel to heat their homes during the winter. Mayor Robert Chatfield said that the town will begin scheduling appointments for residents on Friday.

Residents can call Town Hall at (203) 758-4461 to schedule an appointment.

Chatfield said the appointments will take approximately 30 minutes and be conducted at the Prospect Senior Center. Appointments are conducted on a private basis, he said.

Anyone who seeks assistance through this program will need to bring financial information, including annuities, IRAs, bank statements, wage statements, tax documents if they paid taxes and social security information, Chatfield said.
