Police seek hit-and-run driver


PROSPECT — Police are searching for the driver of a car that struck a pedestrian Thursday afternoon and fled the scene.

Police reported a 21-year-old man was hit by a tan SUV or caravan-type vehicle shortly after 4 p.m. in front of 62 Putting Green Lane. The car fled the scene toward Straitsville Road, police reported.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance for treatment for injuries police described as non-life threatening.

The driver of the car was described as a clean-shaven white man between the ages of 18 and 20 with short brown hair and pimples on his forehead. The car had electronic sliding side doors and may have damage to the front end, police said.
