Police searching for Beacon Falls cigarette thief


BEACON FALLS — Police are on the lookout for a man who stole a carton of cigarettes from Dan’s Mart Convenience Store on North Main Street.

According to a Troop I police report, the suspect entered the store shortly before 6 p.m. on March 16 and asked the clerk for a carton of Newport 100s. When the clerk put the carton on the counter, the report said, the man grabbed the cigarettes and ran out of the store.

The report said the man got into a blue dodge Ram pick-up truck that was waiting for him in the parking lot and sped away onto Route 8 north.

The suspect was described as a white male, between the ages of 25 and 30, with a medium build, short dark balding hair, with a beard and wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

As of this post the case was still under investigation.
