Police search for suspect who took money from man

NAUGATUCK — Police are searching for a man they say stole money from another man at a gas station on North Main Street in late February.

The incident played out at the Cumberland Farms at the intersection of North Main Street and Woodbine Street on Feb. 27 at about 11 p.m. Police said the suspect ripped cash out of a man’s hand after the victim used the ATM at the Cumberland Farms. The suspect then fled the store on foot and was seen running south on North Main Street, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man who was wearing a distinctive black and red sweatshirt, according to police.
