NAUGATUCK — Police are searching for the person or people who dumped dozens of tires behind a manufacturing company in the Naugatuck Industrial Park.

Police said 50 tires were dumped behind Gar-Mac Screw Machine at 70 Great Hill Road. Police opened an investigation into the illegal dumping Sunday.

The industrial park has become a frequent target of illegal dumping and littering over the years. Last summer, someone dumped trash that appeared to be from a carpeting and tile project along Great Hill Road.

Police asked anyone with information on the illegal dumping of the tires to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221.
