NAUGATUCK — The theft of packages from homes is becoming a more common occurrence, especially around the holidays.

Police are investigating a series of package thefts that occurred the week of Dec. 10. Police said packages were reported stolen from homes in the Red Robin Road and Morning Dove Road areas.

In nearby Woodbridge, police there are also investigating multiple package thefts in the area of Route 313, and have identified a suspect vehicle — a tan Oldsmobile Alero with a spoiler and a plastic bag over the driver’s side window.

A witness reported that two people appeared to be in the car. During the thefts, police reported, a white man gets out of front passenger seat, rings the door bell, and steals the packages when he thinks no one is home.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221 or the department’s confidential tip line at 203-720-1010.
