Police-badgeNAUGATUCK — Police are investing a reported robbery of a cell phone from a teenager on July 3.

Naugatuck police Lt. Greg Dean said the teen and his mother reported the teen was walking in the area of Curtiss Street and North Main Street near the Old Corner Café at about 6 p.m. when he was approached by two males. One of the men asked to use the teenager’s cell phone. The teenager initially refused the man’s request, Dean said, but the man continued to ask.

When the teenager gave the man his cell phone to use the two suspects ran off, Dean said.

The men got into a four-door, black car with tinted windows and drove off on Route 8 towards Waterbury, Dean said.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Naugatuck Police Department at (203) 729-5222.
