Police investigating armed robbery in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK — Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery that occurred Monday on Orchard Terrace at about noon.

A 22-year-old man from out of town told police two black men in their late teens or early twenties — one lighter skinned and one darker skinned — approached him in the cul-de-sac at the end of the street, said Lt. Robert Harrison of the Naugatuck Police Department. One was carrying a handgun and one was carrying a longer gun, either a shotgun or a rifle, Harrison said.

At least one of them pointed a gun at the caller, and they took his wallet before running towards North Main Street, Harrison said.
