NAUGATUCK — A 14-year-old borough girl was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglarizing and vandalizing a Horizon Homes apartment last July.

Police said the girl, whose name is being withheld because she is a minor, entered an apartment in the complex at 151 Andrew Ave. on July 26, along with others near her age. It is not clear how the vandals got inside, said Lt. Robert Harrison of the Naugatuck Police Department.

The teenager was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal mischief. She was released to her mother on a promise to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Court.

The teen already faces a number of burglary, criminal mischief and larceny charges stemming from similar incidents at the apartment complex. She was charged in those incidents in March, along with an 11-year-old boy and another 14-year-old girl who was also charged with participating in the July 26 burglary.

More arrests are expected in the case, according to police.
