Police charge Beacon Falls man with DUI after accident


OXFORD – A Beacon Falls man was arrested early Saturday and charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

Jonathan Olcott, 27, of 3 Snyder Drive, was driving southbound on Seth Den Road at 2:53 a.m. when he lost control of his Hyundai sedan, police said. The car went off the road and struck several wooden guardposts on the shoulder.

Police said they received a call from someone reporting a suspicious person in the road. Police responded and found Olcott leaving the scene of the accident. He was arrested and charged with DUI, evading responsibility and making a restricted turn, police said. He was released on a $750 bond for arraignment Sept. 30 at Derby Superior Court.
