PROSPECT — A new petting zoo is opening in town just in time for fall.

Every weekend starting Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a bunch of cuddly animals will greet visitors at Kelly Cronin’s farm at 18 Spring Road.

“It definitely looks good,” Cronin said.

Cronin’s property will have animal stations. A path to each station winding through the farm and around the back to a brook that goes down the perimeter of the property. She will also have a picnic area for people to sit and enjoy the day.

Visitors can meet cats, dogs, llamas, ducks, rabbits, sheep, goats, a cow, miniature horses, and pigs, including three baby pigs. Children can enjoy pony rides.

Besides animals, pumpkins, mums, and corn stalks will be on sale.

Cronin has operated a “Farm on Wheels” for over 20 years, taking animals to birthday parties, nursery schools, county fairs, and convalescent homes. This is the first time Cronin is inviting animal-lovers to come to her.
