NAUGATUCK — A part-time borough employee has been fired after police charged him with inappropriately touching a juvenile.

Police charged William Krasinsky Jr., who used to do be a part-time electrical inspector for the building department, with risk of injury to a child and fourth-degree sexual assault. His accuser is a girl under 16 years of age who is not related to him, police documents show.

Police arrested Krasinsky, 72, at his 44 Cold Spring Circle home last Tuesday night and later released him on a $15,000 bond, police documents show.

The borough initiated an investigation into the allegations against Krasinsky following his arrest as they relate to his position, which requires him to go into the field, Director of Human Resources Jeannette J. Deschesnes said.

Mayor Bob Mezzo said, early this week, that Krasinsky was terminated from his town position.

He was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court March 16, after press time.
