PROSPECT — A section of Waterbury Road is closed following a one-car accident this morning near Rosewood Drive.
Mayor Robert Chatfield, who is also the day commander for the Volunteer Fire Department of Prospect, said a Chevrolet truck hit a utility pole and rolled onto its roof.
The driver was the only person in the truck, Chatfield said, and she was taken to Waterbury Hospital.
The accident occurred at about 7:20 a.m., according to state police, and the driver suffered minor injuries.
No further information was immediately available.
The utility pole was damaged, leaving power lines hanging over the road, Chatfield said. The road is closed between Oak Lane and Pinecrest Drive while a crew from Eversource Energy works to fix the pole, he said.
