BETHANY — Yvon Philibert, 73, beloved husband of Nicole (Fortin) Philibert, passed away at Griffin Hospital in Derby on Monday, July 31, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Philibert was born in Canada on Oct. 10, 1943, son of the late Lucien and Yvonne (Guilmette) Philibert. A longtime Bethany resident, he worked as a local truck driver and carpenter in the area for many years until his retirement. Yvon served in the Canadian Airforce for four years and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Besides his wife Nicole, he is survived by his children, Ian Philibert and his wife, Cheryl, of Bethany and Sylvie Napoli and her husband, Paul, of Orange; his four grandchildren, Nicolas, Danielle, Brian and Bryce; his two brothers of Canada; and several nieces and nephews, including Rene Philibert.
All services will be private. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
