NAUGATUCK — Mr. William Cowan, 65, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 in the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Cowan was born in Bronx, N.Y., on Jan. 14, 1950 son of the late Kenneth and Lucy (McDermott) Cowan. He was employed as a warehouse manager at Tie Communications. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his dog Sammy and was an avid New York Mets and Jets fan.
Mr. Cowan proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Cowan is survived by a daughter, Diane Canada and her husband, Eric, of Watertown; two sons, William Cowan, Jr. of Naugatuck and Michael Cowan of Naugatuck, and two grandchildren, Eric Canada and Justin Canada.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Military honors will be presented at the funeral home immediately following the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 from 6 to 7 p.m.
