Obituary: Stanley Jaskiewicz

NAUGATUCK — Stanley Jaskiewicz, 97, of Naugatuck, passed away at his home on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016.

He was born in Naugatuck on March 25, 1919, the son of the late Alexander and Stella (Kawecki) Jaskiewicz, and he remained a life-long resident.

Stanley was a veteran, having served in the Army during WWII.

He worked as a tool maker for Sylvania Industries for over 30 years, and he loved to play golf. He was a Communicant of St. Hedwig.

Stanley was very well liked, especially in the Big Y grocery store, where he made friends with employees and customers alike, while doing his shopping. He had good neighbors, and all were very saddened by his passing. Stanley was defined as, “A man with a great deal of knowledge to pass on to others.”

He was a loving husband, and took care of his wife, Helen, until her passing.

Stanley is survived by his niece, Nancy and her husband, Benedict Lazdauskas, and their two sons, Ben Jr. and Michael. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Florence Jaskiewicz, and a niece, Donna, and her husband, Frannie La Banda, and also several other nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife, Helen J. (Kuzminsky) Jaskiewicz; two sons, Wayne and Stanley Jr. Jaskiewicz; two brothers, William and Steven Jaskiewicz; and a step-brother, Richard Pertnicki. He is also predeceased by his sister, Helen Lokietis; and a step-sister, Dorothy Kross.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Naugatuck Memorial/Fitzgerald -Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig Church at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck with military honors.
