PROSPECT — Mr. Stanley J. Audietis, 80, of Prospect passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband, for 58 years, of Barbara (Celone) Audietis, who he met at Woolworth’s five and dime store.

Mr. Audietis was born Sept. 11, 1936 in Waterbury, a son of the late Stanley C. and Tophelia (Greggis) Audietis. He was retired as the owner for 30 years of Stanley’s Centerless Grinding in Prospect and was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. He was a hardworking man who was known for his witty sense of humor and his willingness to always lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved music, playing the piano and working on classic cars, especially his 1950 Pontiac convertible, which he completely restored from the ground up. Although being giant in stature, he was a kind, gentle soul, always willing to help others.

Mr. Audietis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Audietis is survived by two daughters, Deborah Skrip of Oakville and Lisa Langlais and her husband, Richard, of Naugatuck; two grandchildren, Bobby Skrip and Joey Skrip and his wife, Liane. He was predeceased by a son, Gary Audietis, and a sister, Anita Audietis.

Mr. Audietis’ family would like to thank the staff of the Village at East Farms, Harbor Building for the compassionate care that they provided.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m.
