NAUGATUCK — Ruby M. (Bird) DePalma, 83, widow of Frederick F. DePalma, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital.
Mrs. DePalma was born in Naugatuck, on Dec. 8, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bird. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, she retired as a nurse’s aide from Whitewood Manor Nursing Home in Waterbury. She was a member of the Pine Brook Assembly of God. She enjoyed her two pet yorkies, traveling, and spending time socializing with her friends at McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts.
Ruby is survived by her son, John Owens of Naugatuck; her sister, Mary Louise Bird of Naugatuck; her two brothers, William Bird of Maine and Joseph Bird of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the Pine Brook Assembly of God, 175 City Hill St., Naugatuck. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
